Art deco diner

August 10, 2020

Why have a moody Monday when you can have a mood board Monday instead. To start your week off with some positive vibes and creative inspiration, I’m bringing you a mood board of a brand identity concept (real or imaginary!) each week!

Art deco meets farm-to-table styling for this mood board Monday!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This week’s mood board was inspired by this weekend’s garden harvest, and my partner and I’s love of home grown food, upscale brunch and classic diners. This theme is best described as: “New Hampshire historic farm-to-table roots takes on New York’s classic Art Deco diner”

If you’ve even taken a glance at fonts and design trends recently, art deco styles are HOT right now! Brilon Typeface is a new favorite of mine as it as the creator does an excellent job of making both uppercase and lowercase alternatives for you to choose from, along with ligatures that allow the letters to nestle nicely together.

Mix these classic art deco styles and embellishments with warm earth tones and natural wood, and you’ve got yourself a foodie wanderlust’s paradise! Leave it to Montreal to bring old and new together in a quaint and sophisticated style – a photo pulled for this week’s mood board is from a pizzeria in one of the city’s urban villages.

So who else is ready for brunch now?!
